Hospital New Born Photography FAQs
Benefits for Hospital Shoots:
A) Hygiene – It’s a place where a baby is born and kept under all the hygiene amenities. Keeping that in consideration we prefer to do a shoot in those basic, fresh and natural comforts of a baby.
B) Convenience – Since a mother cannot take her baby out just after a baby is born we find the baby first place much suitable for them to get their baby clicked there and then.
C) Primary Twinkles – We do not want to miss out with the magical first look of a baby and his moments which can remain with their parents for the whole life as lovely memories, to make them smile always.
D) Interventions at home – We recommend to have first shoot of baby in the hospital, because of lot of intervention, rituals and get together happens once the baby is back to his home.
How long is the photo shoot
The photo shoot normally lasts fifteen to twenty minutes.
When will my photoshoot take place
We typically photograph all babies on their first full day at the hospital. It is also possible for your shoot to take place on the day before discharge. Generally, we do not take photos on the day of discharge unless there is a medical reason for the delay.
My husband won’t return to the hospital until late in the day. Can the session be done then?
We always encourage husbands and siblings to participate if they are available at the time of the shoot, but we may not be at the hospital late in the day. We will try to accommodate you as much as our schedule permits.
Should we bring a special blanket?
We absolutely encourage you to bring a favorite baby blanket or afghan from home to use in the shoot. A beautiful blanket can add texture, color and memories to your newborn’s photos.
How can I prepare for the shoot?
We love to include mom and dad’s hands in our photos. Wear clear or neutral nail polish on the day of your shoot. Distracting jewelry should be removed; your baby should be the focus of the photos.
My baby is in the NICU, can I still have a photo shoot?
Yes, let your nurse know you are interested in Momma Story pictures and sign the consent form. The session will be completed when the nurse tells us the baby is ready for pictures.
What is a pre-shoot discussion?
The pre-shoot discussion is an important part of our photography process as it helps us understand better your requirements as well as gives us a chance to explain to you how to go about booking a shoot.
The pre-shoot discussion is usually done on the phone and on Whatsapp. When you visit our studio for the shoot, feel free to discuss with us our product offerings and we will be happy to show you sample products that are available in the studio.
